WHEN THE RUG COMES FIRST

Creative Matters - Collier-Updated.jpg

A reality for the floorcovering designer is that for many projects the rug is chosen after some of the other finishes. Its role may be to blend, enhance, pull together or even create a synergistic effect. Imagine our delight when the rug comes first. For this luxury condominium lobby, the client chose Viva in the Ochre colourway (from our Perennial Collection) for its jewel tones and subtle textures, and then selected the other elements for the space to harmonize with the Viva rug.  Our collection rugs can be customized, and in this case the design was reconfigured in an unusual shape and handtufted rather than handknotted.

Project: Rug for a Toronto condominium lobby
Rug: 80% wool, 20% silk, handtufted in India
