245 DHURRIES BEAUTIFY WASHINGTON HOTEL
Our challenge was to create rugs for a hotel that describes itself as “A Gathering Place for an Inclusive Tribe of Changemakers and Creatives. Radical Approach. Future-Proofed Design.” When the flagship property of the new Eaton Hotel brand opened in Washington last month, 245 Creative Matters dhurries supported this vision. In four different designs, the handwoven rugs present contemporary variations on traditional carpet motifs - think intensified colours and larger scale details. To keep a handmade look while meeting the cost, timeline and durability requirements for hotel use, our artisans worked with beautiful thick New Zealand wool. And because it is hand-dyed, subtle but intriguing colour variations abound within this rug's eight-colour palette.
