For the third consecutive year, Creative Matters had the pleasure of participating in COVER Connect New York, a boutique trade show for top-tier global rug brands, hosted by COVER magazine. This year was our most momentous show yet, unveiling three new collections: Vanguard, Arcadian, and the first Creative Matters collection crafted in Afghanistan, Vista. Additionally, we unveiled our collaboration with esteemed interior design studio, Burdifilek, and presented new additions to our Sonance and Macrame collections. Presenting such a large variety of fresh designs was a significant milestone for Creative Matters, symbolizing our continued evolution and growth.

Vanguard is a collection of eight exquisite rugs, each drawing inspiration from iconic art movements such as mid-century modern, cubism and art deco. These vibrant art styles have been beautifully reimagined in the richly textured appeal of luxury handknotted rugs. The contemporary pieces can redefine and elevate any interior space, helping to make it truly extraordinary.

Inspired by the enduring appeal of water, the Arcadian collection comprises eight thought-provoking designs reflecting waves, ripples and rapids. These rugs are meticulously handknotted in Nepal, capturing the essence of fluid beauty in every intricate detail. The designs are made to evoke emotions, awaken the senses and ignite the imagination.

Embracing the nostalgia for mid-century modernism, the Vista collection features six designs drawing on the forms of landscapes, particularly cityscapes. The rugs display geometric shapes and lines to inject a casual yet refined elegance to any space. Notably, Vista is the first full Creative Matters collection made by our Afghan artisans, crafted using the Persian knot technique and locally-sourced Ghazni wool. These rugs offer a more rustic quality and appearance, distinct from our collections crafted in Nepal.

Creative Matters had the honour of collaborating with Burdifilek on an incredible rug collaboration. The interior design studio, renowned for its ability to create understated yet distinctive environments, joined forces with our team to design five rugs; FUME, BOOK, SHFT, RIPL and PETL, made using 100% silk.
