Creative Matters collaborated with ACDO on a series of custom floor coverings for a ski chalet in Quebec’s Laurentians. A home where modern architecture meets the warm, grounded atmosphere of mountain living. With its wood panelling, dark stone finishes and a brick fireplace at the centre of the semi-outdoor terrace, the chalet called for custom area rugs that could provide continuity, comfort and a sense of place. Spanning a year-long process, four rugs were crafted to create flow through lines and textures.

At the newly redesigned Gold floors of the Fairmont Pacific Rim, design is more than aesthetic — it’s atmospheric. Called on by acclaimed design studio Nivek Remas, Creative Matters delivered bespoke floor coverings that grounds the interiors and transports guests into calming comfort. Each carpet construction embodies the presence of the Pacific Northwest and Vancouver’s natural landscape through texture, palette and materiality.

To elevate the interiors of St. Lawrence Lodge, Toronto-based design studio ACDO enlisted the expertise of Creative Matters. For this private residence, we crafted a series of custom rugs that echo the surrounding natural beauty and architectural essence of the home. Blending concrete, stone and locally sourced materials, the lodge’s design strikes a balance between warmth and modernity, seamlessly connecting the indoors to the immediate landscape which anchors the home. 

Each of the guest rooms at the Eaton Hotel in Washington DC features handwoven dhurry rugs that were carefully crafted in India for Creative Matters.
