INSIDE THE DESIGN COLLABORATION FOR A CIRCULAR TRIUMPH

The owners of this home were so happy to see how the new handknotted rug integrated with their wonderful art and furniture collection when it was installed last month. They had been actively involved in the design creating a truly collaborative process that delighted us. We started with a fine striation of whites, greys and a touch of rust to tie the colours of the room together. Upon review with the client, we decided to add more interest and movement to the pattern and refine the colours back to whites and greys. Considering directional, cloudy and speckled movement options, we settled on this design that is reminiscent of dappled sunlight coming through the trees. Since there are lovely trees just outside the window - and a gorgeous piece of Canadian Shield rock at the base of the fireplace - the effect worked beautifully.
