DESIGN EXCELLENCE FOR SEATTLE’S AIRPORT
When the developers of the new Paine Fields passenger terminal envisaged it a step above other U.S. airports, they hired the New York design studio of Clive Lonstein to manage the interior. Brimming with upscale finishes such as floor-to-ceiling fireplaces, polished concrete flooring and counters topped with Italian marble, the vision has been surpassed. The waiting area feels like a VIP lounge with Vitra furniture, lamps, display cases and … rugs by Creative Matters. They knew we could be depended upon to order production samples until the quintessential combination of design and colour had been achieved. In this instance, it was a very graphic linear design inspired by the building itself, especially the big windows emitting light through the blinds. Two neutrals plus orange in a combination of cut and loop pile.
