PRESENTING TWO NEW RUG COLLECTIONS

Creative Matters will debut two new collections on September 19 at the New York International Carpet Show. While many architects and interior designers know us for our custom projects, we also offer an increasing selection of ready-designed pieces. With the new designs, we now have six collections to browse on our website and to purchase from our retailers.

COLLECTIONS - GOOD TO KNOW

* Collection pieces are usually faster to produce because the design is already complete.

* We initially present the collection pieces as handknotted rugs in wool with silk highlights but we can customize them all: in size, colour, scale, quality and method of production.

THE ARCTIC COLLECTION

The design team wanted to evoke the vast - often frozen - expanse of their Canadian homeland. The Arctic theme, with its sharp edges, introduces frosty blue tones to the grey colour palette we have come to be known by.

Also ready-for-ordering in the Arctic Collection are: Apparition - Blue and Fractal - Blue. In the next six months, we will present seven more designs: Glacier, Jewel, Shattered, Shard, Shiver, Facet and Fragment.

THE PERENNIAL COLLECTION

When Carol Sebert selected from the thousands of designs generated during our Art Day process for the Arctic Collection, she found herself surprisingly attached to the softer botanical creations of her designers - hence a second collection. From etherial shards to fantasy botanicals, both collections are stylized evocations of nature but the Perennial Collection explores a gentler beauty and allows for intriguing use of colour.

Silverplate - Plum: A masculine floral? Moody colours lend a mysterious element. Our designers see it excelling in both an office environment and residential applications such as a dramatic bedroom or a sophisticated living room. By Ashley Solymar

Hydrangea - Charcoal: Like hydrangeas themselves, exuberant heads - executed in white silk - embellish a contemporary background where trending eggplant and charcoal vye in light geometry. An exciting piece for an edgy retail space or design firm. By Ange Yake

Scatter - BlueIcy blue alstroemeria lilies are scattered across the ivory field. The trinity of cooler shades, sharp edges and floral form are perfect for visual harmony in a transitional space. By Ange Yake

Also ready-for-ordering in the Perennial Collection is: Viva in Ochre. At the Domotex show in January, we will add a new addition to this collection: Ruche - Plum and Ruche - Pastel.

THE EXISTING COLLECTIONS

Our existing collections are not static - they grow as different designs prove popular or different colours arrive on the interior design scene. For example, we are also presenting Drift from our XXV Collection in three new colourways - Aqua Light, Wheat and Raspberry (as a Dhurry) - at the carpet show.
