EXPLORING DESIGN EXCELLENCE AT LES RENDEZ-VOUS DE LA MATIÈRE + FAIR(E)
In October, Creative Matters proudly joined the tenth edition of Les Rendez-vous de la Matière + fair(e). This year marked our third consecutive year at the fair, with our entire European team present, underscoring our deep commitment to the European design community and our dedication to exploring innovative material applications and design trends.
PIAZZA TERRACOTTA’S SHINING MOMENT
Piazza Terracotta in-situ
Taking centre stage of our exhibit was Piazza Terracotta, handknotted in Nepal using Tibetan wool and Chinese silk. Piazza Terracotta is a modern interpretation of classic Art Deco design, featuring asymmetrical borders and geometric shapes that pay homage to that iconic era. The elegance of the silk and the delicate nuances of the terracotta shades transform this carpet into a work of art, which captivated many of the attendees.
HANDCRAFTED TEXTURES AND COLOURS FROM AROUND THE WORLD
Creative Matters’ exhibit at Les Rendez-vous de la Matière + fair(e)
Our exhibit also featured a selection of samples from different techniques showcasing the carpet constructions Creative Matters has to offer. From handtufted rugs made in Thailand and Canada to handwoven pieces from India and handknotted creations from Nepal, our goal was to present an exciting range of textures and colours.
Among the favourites was a stunning handtufted leafy pattern crafted in wool and silk. Another standout was the Chord Gradient, which beautifully transitions from soft pink tones to gentle greens. We also showcased a handknotted piece in a soumak weave, combining hemp and wool for a distinctive touch. Each sample tells its own story and highlights the elegant craftsmanship behind our custom floor coverings.
CELEBRATING A DECADE INNOVATIVE DESIGN

Creative Matter’s Clémence Hardelay, Director of Design Europe, shared, “Since this is our third year, we have built customer loyalty, with designers who now eagerly anticipate each event. The fair attracts a refined clientele, allowing us to make new connections with leading luxury houses, architects and talented interior designers.”
Les Rendez-vous de la Matière + fair(e) is known for its scenography, enhancing the atmosphere and reinforcing the event's significance in the architectural scene. The organizers continually seek exceptional locations in Paris, with the 2025 edition set to take place at Le Carreau du Temple, a historic 19th-century covered market.

The exceptional quality of attendees from the hospitality sector and high-end interior design truly elevated the experience. Clémence shares, “It’s those magical moments when we can talk passionately about our work and showcase the beauty of our materials that make this fair so special. Overall, meeting such a diverse constellation of talented professionals and listening to the passionate stories of these artisans was a joy.”
