Meet Kayla Bortolotto

SENIOR DESIGNER & CREATIVE OPERATIONS LEAD

Kayla joined Creative Matters in 2016 as a Designer and advanced to Senior Designer in 2020. In 2022, she took on the additional role of Brand Manager. By 2025, Kayla became Creative Operations Lead, where her leadership and vision help guide the company’s creative and operational growth. Known for her keen attention to detail, strong design sense, and passion for colour, Kayla encourages collaboration, innovation and strategic thinking across all projects.

Her impressive design portfolio spans a wide range of custom floor coverings, from various residential, hospitality, commercial sectors, as well as significant contributions to Creative Matters’ rug collections. Kayla has designed for high-profile projects for clients such as The Ritz Carlton, Four Seasons, St. Regis, Fairmont, and more. She has also overseen production of floor coverings at our mill in Thailand.

As Creative Operations Lead, Kayla combines her creative expertise with strong leadership skills to elevate Creative Matters’ brand identity. She is responsible for guiding the strategic vision and ensuring the seamless execution of the brand across all platforms—website, social media, printed materials, and marketing campaigns. With a keen focus on fostering team cohesion and driving operational efficiency, she ensures that every touchpoint reflects the company's unwavering commitment to excellence, innovation, and creative integrity.

Kayla is a graduate of both the Craft and Design (Textiles) program, and the Visual and Creative Arts program at Sheridan College.
