Winter Garden is an ephemeral installation playing with materiality while visualizing the first snowfall of the Canadian winter. An eco-responsible environment to awaken the senses. Surrounded and welcomed by the enchantment of a snowy experience, we open ourselves to a spiritual moment.
In a frenetic world of consumption, we have chosen to use wool and wood in their natural states. Together Creative Matters and LOMA envisioned how these materials, aesthetically gathered in this landscape, will form a unique collection of objects. Embracing the concept of circularity, they will be entirely re-used in pieces of special furniture when the installation is dismantled.
Two particular partnerships enable us to showcase French and Canadian wool in this sensory experience. We thank Brun de Vian-Tiran, France’s first wool processor founded in 1808, and Campaign for Wool Canada, part of a global initiative that educates consumers about its unique, natural, renewable and biodegradable benefits. It is our privilege to honour the importance of this magnificent fibre in the fabrication of carpets throughout time.
